Scientist’s Statement
I earned my Ph.D. in Oncology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I focused on the cellular pathway used by a tumor promoter. Further academic studies involved signaling by cytokines and cellular responses to growth factors, including apoptosis. After transitioning into industry, I found that I enjoyed the multidisciplinary, team environment of start-up biotechnology companies. My professional profile can be found on LinkedIn. I am flexible, learn new techniques quickly, and have a broad background that includes cell-based assays and bioconjugation chemistry. I have contributed to companies developing therapeutics, as well as diagnostic devices. I thrive on solving problems and new challenges, as demonstrated by the fact that I taught myself HTML coding to build this website. I transitioned a number of years ago to scientific editing for non-native English speakers on a contract basis.
